Day 1- A 13 Hour Fliight!

Hello Rimu! On Saturday night, flew to Auckland, which took over an hour, then had a 12 hour flight to LA! It was really turbulent for a while but the pilots managed to swerve away from the air pockets. We had a TV and a tracker in the seat that told us where we were. Anyway, enough about the planes. We got our rental car and headed to San Diego. 3 hours south of LA. We are staying in a hotel for the night. So we had to drive for a few more hours on 405 freeway. It was 7 lanes wide! Here are some of the photos from the day.

  1. Hi Teegan,
What a great photo of our braided river and the plane's wing. Looks like you had a great seat. I'm glad the pilots were able to avoid the turbulence. It isn't nice when it goes on and on.

After a long flight a three hour drive doesn't sound that fun. And a 7 lane highway sounds super scary. Did your Dad drive? I'm sure he is a good driver and you felt safe though.

Can't wait to hear about what you will do in San Diego.

  2. Hi Teegan,

12 hours on a plane seems to take forever doesn't it? I'm glad you arrived safely though. I remember when we were in Los Angeles, the traffic was horrible. I know there were alot of cars on the highway but I hadn't realised there were seven lanes! I don't think I'd like to be stuck in a traffic jam!

What are you most looking forward to? This is such an awesome holiday for your family.

Can't wait to read about all the things you get up to.

    Have fun!

    Mrs Taylor :)

  3. Hi Teggan,

Not gonna lie but 13 hours wow that's like half the day! Was the rental car a normal car? 7 Lanes wide that sounds pretty big for a highway, is that the biggest road so far. What things did you get up to on the plane
    Kind regards
    Toby
